In honor of the holiday season, members of Lynbrook South Middle School’s student council have recently been working closely with The Little Saint Nick Foundation. The foundation, which organizes kids helping kids programs across the country to help ease the fear, anxiety and isolation of sick kids both in and out of hospitals, was created by Ray Mohler, a former student at South Middle School.

The students packaged emergency room gift bags and created get wells cards to be brought to local children's hospitals. In addition, many of the students volunteered their time at the foundation’s headquarters in East Rockaway on the weekends. To further their support, the school also hosted a toy drive and donated the toys to The Little Saint Nick Foundation.

“We will continue to work with this foundation in the new year, as toys are brought to the hospitals all year, not just in December,” said student council adviser Maureen McCartney.
