The New York State Public High School Athletics Association has named Lynbrook High School a 2016-17 Scholar-Athlete School of Excellence. The school earned this distinction by having 75% percent of its varsity teams qualify for the Scholar-Athlete team award during their respective sports seasons. To achieve Scholar-Athlete status, 75 percent of a team’s roster must maintain a grade point average of 90 or above. Only 47 schools around the state earned this honor.
