Pre-school jitters were replaced by confident smiles, as incoming sixth-graders and their families attended orientation programs at Lynbrook North and South Middle Schools on Aug. 30.

Students and parents were able become acclimated before the start of school by visiting their classrooms, learning their locker combinations, speaking with their new teachers and getting a feel for their new fall class schedules. Principals Sean Fallon and Caryn Blum were on hand to welcome everyone and answer questions.

Now that they know just what to expect, these well-oriented students and their parents are able to look forward confidently to the new challenges and opportunities that await them in September.

A similar orientation program took place at Lynbrook High School on Aug. 31 to welcome incoming freshmen.
