Due to the Lynbrook Union Free School District’s commitment to transparency and high-quality financial reporting, the district was recently awarded with the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting for the fiscal year ending 2017 by the Association of School Business Officials International. This is the fifth consecutive year that the district was recognized with this designation.  

The organization recognizes school districts that have met the program’s high standards for financial reporting and accountability. By participating in the Certificate of Excellence program, districts demonstrate their commitment to financial transparency. 

To receive this honor, applicants must submit their Comprehensive Annual Financial Report which is reviewed by a team of professional auditors, who provide feedback to improve future documents. If the CAFR meets the requirements of the program, the document may receive the Certificate of Excellence. A district’s participation in the COE program can facilitate bond rating and continuing bond disclosure processes.
