LYNBROOK SCHOOL BUDGET PASSES

Voters in the Lynbrook Union Free School District approved the 2015-2016 proposed budget of $79,373,791 by a vote of 1,125 to 355.

Proposition 2 on the ballot, authorizing the District to expend $500,000 from the Technology Replacement Fund to purchase instructional technology devices, replace classroom projectors, computers, and printers, and expanding the district's network virtualization project passed by a vote of 1,145 to 290.

Proposition 3, authorizing the expenditure of $1,700,000 from the Renovation and Improvement of Facilities Reserve Fund to install new windows at the Atlantic Avenue/Kindergarten Center Building, commence a High School ceiling and lighting project, renovate the basketball courts at South Middle School, renovate bathrooms at South Middle School and Marion Street School, and replace playground equipment at West End School, passed by a vote of 1,136 to 298.

Proposition 4 asked voters for approval to establish a new capital reserve fund, The Building Renovation, Improvement, Upgrade, and Equipment Fund. This proposition passed by a vote of 950 to 487.

Incumbent Robert Paskoff was re-elected to a three-year term with 774 votes.  Lesli Deninno and David Yaker were elected to the Board for three-year terms with 994 and 971 votes respectively.
