Dear Lynbrook Tax Payers:

Please be advised that Lynbrook School District has requested and been approved by the New York State Education Department, pursuant to Section 211 of the Retirement and Social Security Law and §80-5.5 of Commissioner’s Regulations, for the temporary employment of Ms. Caryn Blum as Interim Middle School Principal from August 25, 2014 through June 30, 2015 at the rate of $750.00 per day. Based upon this approval, Ms. Blum, is entitled to receive a pension while employed. We are grateful to Ms. Blum for her service to our community.

Ms. Caryn Blum has been selected as the successful candidate for the position of full-time Interim Middle School Principal at South Middle School starting August 25, 2014. REVISED REGENTS SCHEDULE

Due to Tuesday's snow day, the High School Regents schedule has been revised.

BOARD OF EDUCATION BUDGET WORK SESSIONS SCHEDULED FOR FEB. 4 AND FEB. 25

The Lynbrook Board of Education budget work sessions will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 4 and Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 7:30 p.m. in the high school cafeteria.

The Feb. 4 session will cover the topics of staffing, salaries, benefits, central administration budgets, school budgets, department budgets and special program budgets. The Feb. 25 session will provide a summary of expenditures and revenues.

Reference information for these meetings will be posted on the finance and budget page of www.lynbrookschools.org prior to each session.
