Dear Lynbrook Tax Payers:

Please be advised that Lynbrook School District has requested and been approved by the New York State Education Department, pursuant to Section 211 of the Retirement and Social Security Law and §80-5.5 of Commissioner’s Regulations, for the temporary employment of Ms. Caryn Blum as Interim Middle School Principal from August 25, 2014 through June 30, 2015 at the rate of $750.00 per day. Based upon this approval, Ms. Blum, is entitled to receive a pension while employed. We are grateful to Ms. Blum for her service to our community.

Ms. Caryn Blum has been selected as the successful candidate for the position of full-time Interim Middle School Principal at South Middle School starting August 25, 2014. This serves as the official public notification regarding the approval of Ms. Blum’s 211 waiver. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 622-1396 or mberman@lynbrook.k12.ny.us.

TRANSPORTATION REQUEST DEADLINE: APRIL 1
Requests for transportation to nonpublic schools for the 2015-16 school year must be submitted to Alex Lago, Lynbrook UFSD Transportation Office, 111 Atlantic Avenue, Lynbrook, NY 11563 (Not to the school where your child is enrolled). Forms must be postmarked no later than April 1, 2015. For all requests, you must provide the latest school tax receipts showing School District #20, plus two (2) proofs of residency. A request form must be filled out every year, for every school your child is applying to, and or for each child if there are siblings. In no instance can the school be more than 15 miles from the student's residence.
