Proposition No 2: Use of the Technology Replacement Fund Reserve
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Lynbrook Union Free School District be authorized to expend from the Technology Replacement Fund, established on May 15, 2007, and extended and amended by the voters of the Lynbrook Union Free School District at the Annual District Meeting held on May 16, 2017, an amount not to exceed $515,000 for the purposes of providing instructional technology devices, continuing the annual device replacement cycle, and providing additional electronic security and surveillance equipment; at no additional cost to District taxpayers and to commence during the 2020-2021 school year; all of the foregoing to include furnishings, equipment, machinery, demolition and other work required in connection therewith, as well as preliminary costs and costs incidental thereto and to the financing thereof; provided that the costs of the components of said project may be reallocated among such components if the Board of Education shall determine that such reallocation is in the best interests of the District and no material change shall be made in the scope of the project.


Budget Vote June 9, 2020 by Absentee Ballot
According to Executive Order 202.26, due to health and safety concerns associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, the Annual School District Election shall take place remotely, and will be held on June 9, 2020 by Absentee Ballot only. All qualified voters will receive an absentee ballot with a postage paid return envelope. The district must receive such ballot by mail OR dropped off in the mailbox at the Lynbrook Administration Building, 111 Atlantic Avenue, Lynbrook, NY 11563.
All Ballots must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. on June 9, 2020.

Board of Education Candidates
Individuals interested in running for the Board of Education may declare themselves to be a candidate for the Board of Education providing they meet legal requirements by submitting a statement to the District Clerk. The statement must include the candidate’s name and residence and must be filed with the District Clerk by emailing Theresa.moran@lynbrookschools.org no later than 5:00 p.m. on May 11, 2020. The two candidates with the highest number of votes will be elected to office.

Who Is Eligible to Vote?

  1. Must be a U.S. Citizen,
  2. Must be over the age of 18,
  3. Must have resided in the School District for at least 30 days before the Budget Vote, and
  4. Must be a registered voter


Are You Registered?
If you are uncertain as to whether you are registered in the school district and eligible to vote, email the district clerk at Theresa.moran@lynbrookschools.org.

Due to the ordered closure of schools, personal registration with the school district will not take place for the June 9, 2020 election. In lieu of such registration, individuals can register through New York State Department of Motor Vehicles voter registration website (https://dmv.ny.gov/more-info/electronic-voter-registration-application), and be eligible to receive an absentee ballot for the June 9, 2020 election, provided that the individual registers before June 4, 2020. If you are uncertain about whether you are registered for General Elections, go to https://voterlookup.elections.ny.gov or contact the District Clerk by email with questions or to confirm if they are registered.
