Lynbrook UFSD Reopening Plan 2020

Visitors to School Buildings

Lynbrook UFSD Protocol to Address Visitors, Guests, Contractors, and Vendors to the School which Includes Health Screenings

The Lynbrook School District will limit visitors, guests, contractors, and vendors into the buildings; however, when access to the buildings is necessary the following protocols will be implemented:

(The term “visitors” will refer to all visitors, guests, contractors and vendors unless otherwise indicated.)

“Visitors”

  • All “visitors” are strongly discouraged from entering the buildings. Supervisors will make decisions on a case-by-case basis. If “visitors” are allowed, they must schedule an appointment, and the door monitor must be notified ahead of time.

  • Logs must be maintained of all “visitors” (but excluding deliveries performed with appropriate PPE or performed through contactless means) who may have had close contact with other people on-site. Logs should include contact information, date, time, and where in the school they visited as it may be used for contact tracing.

  • “Visitors” will be reminded through verbal and written communication (e.g., signage) to adhere to CDC and DOH guidance regarding the use of PPE, specifically acceptable face coverings, when a social distance cannot be maintained. Signage will be displayed throughout the district pertaining to social distancing and the use of PPE when entering the buildings.

  • “Visitors” will be required to complete a health screening questionnaire and temperature check upon entry to the building.

Deliveries

  • All deliveries will be dropped off in the building entrances or lobbies. The normal protocols pertaining to deliveries will remain, with the expectation that those individuals making the deliveries would be required to follow the PPE and social distancing procedures put in place.

  • Logs will be maintained of all deliveries when deliveries require close contact with people in the building. Deliveries performed with appropriate PPE or performed through contactless means will not be required to complete the log.

  • Delivery personnel will be required to complete a health screening questionnaire and temperature check upon entry to the building when deliveries require close contact with people in the building.

  • Door monitors will continue to notify each department representative responsible to sign for and accept their deliveries.

  • Custodial staff will continue to assist and coordinate with the respective departments when larger deliveries need to be brought directly to a certain area of the building.
