Several Lynbrook High School students attended the Long Island Latino Teachers Association’s Annual Women's Conference, Women Leaders Paving Paths for Young Women.

The trip was organized by Lynbrook ENL Chairperson, Madelyn Torres, who was also invited to serve as a panelist to help inspire our future generation of leaders. Students were invited to take part in this unique opportunity chaperoned by Ms. Jeny Sanchez. This conference is designed to inspire and motivate high school students to graduate from high school and pursue a college degree/program by helping them match their passion with a career path. Successful professionals shared their personal and professional journey in the fields of education, social work, law, politics, arts, journalism, medicine, science, technology, business or sports, so students can realize that education is transformation. The conference provided panels in Spanish to include English Language Learners. In addition, information on the college application process was provided to familiarize students with the college experience.

In attendance were Juanita Martinez, Nicolette Altamarino, Paula Rojas Young, Abril Trejo Rocha, Jazlene Ramos, Emily Olalde, and Ashley Olalde. #OwlProud #OwlLearns
