Student achievers honored at monthly meeting
Several student achievers received recognition at the June 11 Board of Education meeting. They included:
* Senior Coralie Germain who earned the Pathways to Independence award.
* Senior Jack Ceglie for being named the Roger Rees Award for Outstanding Performer, a prestigious honor for which he will represent the Greater NYC Area in the National High School Musical Theatre Awards, also known as The Jimmy Awards.
* Juanita Martinez, who was named a finalist in the Nassau County Library Association’s Freedom to Read contest.
* South Middle School students Kristie Luna Pedrozo and Audra Schoen who were named Promising Young Writers by the National Council of Teachers of English.
* The girls varsity lacrosse team who were crowned conference champions.
Finally, welcome to Jackson Bowler, who is Lynbrook’s first ex-officio student board member. Jackson will attend board meetings throughout the next school year to share school happenings and represent his peers. #OwlProud
