With crowds of people gathered to watch the New York Mets take on the Arizona Diamondbacks, Waverly Park Elementary School chorus students, along with kindergarteners from the Lynbrook Kindergarten Center, took to the field to perform the National Anthem at Citi Field on May 19. 

Guided by music teacher Maddi Jabin, the students sang dressed in their school t-shirts and were featured on the jumbotron for all to see. Following their performance, Lynbrook Director of Fine and Performing Arts Joseph Pallotta was invited onto the field to throw the first pitch. To end the memorable evening, each student went home with a Stars Wars Bobble head as a souvenir to commemorate it also being Star Wars Night at Citi Field.
