  • August 3, 2020: Due to the weather forecast, Summer Playground will be canceled on Tuesday, August 4, 2020
  • July 30, 2020: Due to the forecast of thunderstorms, Summer Playground will be closed on Friday, July 31, 2020.
  • July 30, 2020: In the event of heavy rain, thunderstorms and/or lightning, summer playground will be cancelled. You will receive a phone connect message. If heavy rain begins during the morning while the children are at summer playground, you will also receive a phone connect message to pick your child/children up as soon as possible from camp.
  • July 29, 2020: When pulling up at our playground sites, parents should wear a mask, stay in the car and have children unlocked from car seats. If parents need to strap their child in, they should pull to the side/end of the driveway. This will allow for a smoother flow of traffic so that parents are not taking the time to get out of their vehicles without a mask. Thank you!
  • July 27, 2020: It was a great first day of summer playground! Below are a few friendly reminders for families:
    • Parents are strongly encouraged to walk their children to camp; it will make the drop off and pick up much easier each day. It will also allow for less congestion of cars on Merrick Road and Union Avenue.
    • Parents are asked to not to step out of their cars during pick up and drop off and should roll down their windows to answer COVID-19 questions in the morning.
    • Please apply sunscreen on children and be certain that they bring enough water for camp each day.
  • July 22, 2020: Summer Playground begins this Monday, July 27 at 9:00 a.m.! Below are a few things to keep in mind:
    • There will be a special walkers line at the drop off site. Please be sure that you and your child wear a mask at the drop off site.
    • Sprinklers will be available every day beginning on the first day of camp; be certain that children wear some form of pool shoes if using the sprinklers and bring a towel that is not to be shared with any other camper.
    • Don't forget to bring a couple of bottles of iced water.
    • Don't forget an extra two masks and a reading book in a zip lock bag marked with the child's name and grade that he/she will be attending in September.
We look forward to seeing you on Monday!
  • July 13, 2020: There will be only one session from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. for summer playground instead of the original 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. or 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. sessions. In addition, families will be receiving an email attachment from their child’s head counselor with further important summer playground information.
  • June 25, 2020: Due to our modified summer playground, volunteers will not be used this summer.
