In honor of Kindness Month at West End Elementary School, fifth-grade classes recently turned “diss tracks,” a song with a negative purpose of putting down another person, into “bliss tracks,” to do just the opposite. The idea came about after the classes had a discussion about diss tracks and how hurtful words can be. Each student was assigned a classmate to write a kind letter, song or rap about. The students then recorded their masterpieces on FLIPGRID, an educational video discussion platform and shared their projects. The students worked very hard and were extremely excited to do something so meaningful for a friend.
