Molloy University students teach health basics at Lynbrook Kindergarten Center

Molloy University nursing students returned to the Lynbrook Kindergarten Center on Oct. 22 to teach tips on maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle at the annual Health Fair.
Molloy students crafted several stations for kindergartners to visit and participate in activities that focused on healthy habits for different parts of the body. Highlighting the function of the heart, for instance, kindergartners felt their hearts beat faster after performing jumping jacks. Students also identified which foods are good or bad for teeth, blew bubbles to show the strength of their lungs and knocked on a helmet to illustrate how a skull protects a brain. The innovative joint program between Lynbrook Schools and Molloy University allows nursing students to showcase their knowledge with a younger audience while kindergartners are inspired to lead a healthy lifestyle.
