Lynbrook North Middle honors local veterans

This November, the Lynbrook North Middle School Community Service Club, chaired by Mrs. Koenderman, and the Student Council Club, co-chaired by Ms. Roslewicz and Mrs. Ticas, once again joined forces to honor our local veterans. Students collected donated Halloween candy and created heartfelt thank-you cards to assemble special goody bags for those who have served our country. This tradition has been a meaningful part of the North Middle community for several years, bringing smiles and gratitude to the brave men and women who dedicated their lives to protecting ours. Student Council also created a Wall of Honor in the main hallway displaying pictures and ranks of our staff and students' family members.
In addition, this week Social Studies teachers Mr. Beyrer, Mr. O'Hara, Mr. Farina and Ms. Roslewicz led powerful lessons to help students understand the true meaning of Veterans Day. Mr. O'Hara and Mrs. Ticas demonstrated how to properly fold the American flag, explaining the deep significance behind the stars, stripes and colors of our nation’s symbol.
To wrap up this meaningful day, students and staff came together to install flags outside Lynbrook North, each one representing a member of our school community. This beautiful display stands as a reminder of our collective gratitude for all who have served and continue to protect our freedoms.
