On March 14 and 15, the Lynbrook Key Club had the privilege to attend the 78th Annual Leadership Training Conference in Albany, where Key Club members from all over New York State attend workshops to learn about a variety of topics including board positions, college prep advice, budgeting basics and even some dance moves.
The Key Club brought eight awards back home, including the Distinguished Club Award - Diamond Level, the highest recognition a club can receive. Lynbrook also won First Place for Total Funds Raised with $43,951, Largest Single Project – Double Good Popcorn with a total of $31,000 and received recognition for submission of Early Bird Dues. Other awards given to individual board members and Key Club members include:
- Nolan Pearsall – Distinguished Treasurer Award
- Aidan Pearsall – Distinguished President Award
- Madelyn Gottlieb – Outstanding Key Club Member – Freshman
- Emilio Zuniga – Distinguished Key Club Member – Junior.
While all members have a passion to give back through service and charity work, one who stood out is Skylar Wolkoff, who had the privilege of being Lieutenant Governor of Division 7 for the 2025 to 2026 Service Year. This division includes Baldwin High School, Oceanside High School, East Rockaway High School, Freeport High School, Hewlett High School, Lawrence High School, Long Beach High School, Valley Stream Central High School, Valley Stream North High School, Valley Stream South High School and her home school, Lynbrook High School. Skylar has written multiple monthly newsletters and weekly updates, visited her clubs monthly and hosted workshops for fellow club members at the Fall Rally event.
Lynbrook’s attendance at their 8th LTC included Presidents Aidan Pearsall, Cooper Cordes and Dani Zhanay; Secretary Mikayla Torres; Treasurers Sophia Kostkowicz and Nolan Pearsall; Public Relations Officer Nicole Grillo; Webmaster Jack Boll; Board Representatives Cameron Kibry, Marissa Schiller, Ethan Lunati and Gabe Gallagher; and Club Members Madelyn Gottlieb, Emilio Zuniga and Alexa Reilly. Also in attendance from Lynbrook was Lieutenant Governor of Division 7, Skylar Wolkoff.
Congratulations to all members of the Key Club on their success and awards — we are excited for what is to come in the 2026 to 2027 service year! #OwlProud #OwlCares #OwlLearns
