College and Career Awareness Week a success in Lynbrook elementary schools

From March 23-27, our elementary schools across the district proudly launched our first College & Career Awareness Week. Students had the opportunity to begin thinking about their futures in exciting and age-appropriate ways. Classrooms were filled with rich conversations, curiosity and exploration as students discussed what they might want to be when they grow up.
Our young Owls explored a wide range of career pathways, including skilled trades such as electricians, plumbers, mechanics, chefs and builders. They also learned about the importance of community helpers and those who serve our country, including members of the Army, Navy and Coast Guard, as well as police officers, firefighters, nurses and EMTs.
Additionally, students were introduced to colleges, universities and various educational pathways, helping them understand that there are many ways to achieve their goals. These experiences helped students begin to connect their learning today with their aspirations for tomorrow.
We proudly ended the week by celebrating where our students are now and where their educational journey begins, reinforcing the message that their future starts right here in Lynbrook.
Visiting classrooms throughout the week, it was inspiring to see students and staff fully engaged by asking questions, sharing ideas and embracing the excitement of future possibilities.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported the successful launch of College & Career Awareness Week. From our parents and students to our teachers, faculty, staff and administrators — your partnership made this initiative truly impactful!
A special thank you to our teachers, who facilitated meaningful conversations in their classrooms. We know that students look up to the adults in their lives, and your influence plays a critical role in shaping their confidence, curiosity and dreams.
