Lynbrook High School junior receives Students Building Bridges Award

Lynbrook High School is proud to announce that junior Shannon Bludoy is the recipient of the Students Building Bridges Award from the Jewish Community Relations Council of Long Island.
Bludoy was nominated for the award because of her work in both establishing the Jewish Student Union at Lynbrook High School and organizing an event held for Holocaust Remembrance Day this past winter. During the event, two Holocaust survivors spoke to students in social studies classes. It was a meaningful experience for all who attended. Through the award, the Jewish Community Relations Council aims to promote empathy by recognizing events like the one Bludoy coordinated.
“Shannon’s inclusive nature is what made her stand out,” Principal Matthew Sarosy said. “Bringing such a meaningful experience to our building has a positive and lasting effect for Lynbrook High School students.”
