Lynbrook students honored at annual Flag Day contest ceremony

Three Lynbrook students were recognized at Assemblywoman Judy Griffin’s Annual Flag Day Essay and Poster Contest Awards Ceremony on June 14.
The district’s honorees included Emma Turman, a fifth-grade student in Mrs. Bowes’ class at Waverly Park School; Kayson Lin, a first-grade student in Mrs. Reisert’s class at Marion Street School; and Quinn Davis, a kindergarten student in Mrs. Schroeder’s class at the Lynbrook Kindergarten Center.
The annual contest celebrates students’ creativity while promoting an appreciation for the American flag, patriotism and civic engagement. Students from across the region submitted essays and artwork reflecting the significance of Flag Day and the values it represents.
During the ceremony, students were recognized for their outstanding work and joined by family members, educators and community leaders. The event highlighted the creativity, talent and patriotic spirit of participating students from throughout the region. #OwlProud #OwlCares #OwlLearns
