ParentSquare & Student Square

ParentSquare and Student Square

Lynbrook Union Free School District uses two connected communication platforms to keep families and students informed and engaged throughout the school year. Below you will find an overview of each tool, along with instructions for getting started.

ParentSquare

All Families, Grades K-12

ParentSquare is Lynbrook's primary tool for school and district communication with families. It brings announcements, alerts, forms, event sign-ups, and direct messages from teachers and staff into one place, and it replaces the need to track messages across multiple apps or email threads.

What families can do with ParentSquare

  • Receive district, school, and classroom announcements by email, text, voice call, or app notification
  • Read and reply to messages from teachers and staff
  • Complete online forms and permission slips
  • RSVP for events and sign up for conferences or volunteer opportunities
  • View photos and files shared by teachers and school staff
  • Read every message in your preferred language, since ParentSquare translates posts and alerts automatically
  • Manage notification preferences so you receive information the way that works best for you

Getting started

  1. Look for an activation email or text from ParentSquare using the contact information on file with your child's school
  2. Follow the link to activate your account and set a password
  3. Download the free ParentSquare app from the App Store or Google Play, or visit parentsquare.com Link to sign in from a browser
  4. Once signed in, adjust your notification settings under "My Account"
Can't find your activation email? Check your spam or junk folder first. If you still cannot locate it, contact your child's school office to confirm the email address and phone number on file, since your ParentSquare account is created using that contact information.

StudentSquare

North and South Middle Schools & Lynbrook High School

StudentSquare is the student-facing companion to ParentSquare. It gives students in grades 6 through 12 their own age-appropriate way to receive updates directly from teachers and staff, while parents retain full visibility into everything their child receives. StudentSquare is not available at the elementary level.

What students can do with StudentSquare

  • Receive class updates, assignment reminders, and school-wide announcements
  • Get notified about club, activity, and athletics communications
  • Message teachers directly within the app
  • View class and school calendars and RSVP for events
  • Sign up for activities and complete forms online

How students download and enroll in StudentSquare

Unlike ParentSquare, StudentSquare accounts are not created automatically. Each student must register their own account using the steps below.

  1. Download the free StudentSquare app for iOS or Android, or visit mystudentsquare.com Link from a browser
  2. Select "Sign Up" and enter your Student ID along with the email address or phone number you would like to use for notifications
  3. Check your email or phone for a confirmation message and click the link to confirm your account
  4. Create and confirm a password
  5. Enter the verification code sent to your email or phone to complete registration
Students who do not know their Student ID, or who run into trouble during registration, should see their school's main office or the Technology Department for assistance.
