Lynbrook kindergartners learn healthy habits from nursing students

Students at the Kindergarten Center in the Lynbrook School District became health experts for the day during a special health fair hosted by nursing students from Molloy University on Oct. 21.
The interactive experience introduced young learners to the importance of taking care of their bodies through a series of engaging activities. Students rotated through stations focused on different parts of the body, such as the heart, brain or teeth. At each stop, they learned about the important role each plays in keeping the body healthy and discovered simple habits they can practice every day, from maintaining good dental hygiene to making choices that support their overall well-being. Through hands-on learning and conversations with the nursing students, kindergartners explored how healthy choices help their bodies grow and thrive.
The health fair — an annual collaboration between Lynbrook Schools and Molloy University’s nursing program — offers a fun and memorable way to build early health awareness while connecting classroom learning to real-world experiences. The district thanks the college nursing students for sharing their knowledge and helping inspire the next generation to develop healthy habits that last a lifetime.
