Schoology Learning Management System

Schoology Parent Accounts

Schoology is Lynbrook's learning management system for grades [4-12]. It is the digital hub where students find class materials, submit assignments, take quizzes, and receive teacher feedback. A Schoology parent account lets you see what your child is working on, what is due, and how they are doing on individual assignments.

Already registered in a prior year? You do not need to register again. Your account and Parent Access Code carry over from year to year. Simply log in.

Schoology or PowerSchool: Which One Do I Use?

Lynbrook families use two different systems, and each has a distinct purpose.

Purpose Day-to-day classwork and learning Official student records
What you will find Assignments, due dates, class materials, teacher feedback, and scores on individual assignments Report cards, marking period grades, attendance, and class schedules

Scores in Schoology reflect individual assignments as teachers post them and may change as work is graded. The grades in PowerSchool are your child's official academic record. Learn about the PowerSchool Parent Portal

Getting Your Parent Access Code

Each student has a unique 12-character Parent Access Code that connects your account to your child. Students who enroll during the year receive a code from the school main office. If you never received a code or have misplaced it, contact your child's school main office, and staff will provide it after verifying your identity.

Create Your Parent Account

Complete these steps only if you have not registered before.

  1. Go to the Schoology Parent Registration page.
  2. Enter your child's 12-character Parent Access Code and select Continue.
  3. Complete the form with your name, email address, and a password, then select Register.
  4. From then on, log in at Schoology Login with that email and password.
  5. For mobile access, download the free Schoology app from the Apple App Store or Google Play and sign in with the same email and password.

Add Another Child

If you already have a parent account and have received a code for another child, you do not need a second account.

  1. Log in at Schoology Login.
  2. Select your name in the upper-right corner, then select Add Child.
  3. Enter the child's Parent Access Code and select Use Code.

To switch between children, select your name in the upper-right corner and choose the child whose activity you want to view.

Troubleshooting

I forgot my password. On the Schoology login page, select Forgot your password? and enter the email address you registered with. Schoology will email you a reset link. If it does not arrive within a few minutes, check your spam or junk folder.

I don't remember which email I used. Try the password reset with each email address you use regularly. Only the registered address will receive a reset message.

My access code doesn't work. Most code problems have a simple cause:

  • Check for typing errors. Codes can contain letters and numbers that look alike, such as the number 0 and the letter O.
  • Make sure you are using the Parent Access Code, not your child's student login.
  • If you already have an account, do not register again. Log in and use Add Child instead.
  • If the code still fails, contact [your child's school main office] for a replacement.

I can see my child but not all of their classes. A class appears only after the teacher has activated the course in Schoology. If a class is still missing after the first few weeks of school, contact the teacher.

How Students Sign In

Students do not need a separate Schoology password. They sign in to ClassLink with their district account and select the Schoology tile, which opens their courses automatically. Students who have trouble signing in should visit their school's library media center for help.

Please note: Parent accounts and student accounts are separate. Parents should not sign in with their child's student account, since parent accounts are designed to show information across all of your children and to send you notifications.
